Key Environmental Inc

In 1980, the United States government passed the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). This act provides funding for the cleanup of properties that are contaminated with hazardous waste. If a company is found liable for the contamination, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can require the company to pay for the cleanup. If no party is found liable, the EPA can pay for the cleanup itself through money from a trust fund.
